• Who am I?

I am Qrystal; or at least, that's my dot-name! Har har. (My name is really Crystal, but that's not as internet-searchable; hence, switching the C for the little-used letter Q.)

I am here because I enjoy writing. I do this mostly for myself, but I also have a passion for helping others learn things from the things I write. Now that I am done my Ph.D. in Physics, I am stepping away from academic research so that I can indulge in some creative ways to share my knowledge and inspire the appreciation of scientific thinking in others. I am also working as a tutor, which is one of the jobs I've most enjoyed doing in my life so far.

  • Tweetburner and Link Tracking

    Link: tweetburner

My curiosity got the better of me!! I’m now gonna start tracking the links I share on Twitter. Or at least, I’m starting to use a link-shortener that will let me track if the urge ever hits. Whether I actually get around to using it is a completely different question… :P

    UPDATE (June 25, 2008)

I’m loving tweetburner already!  I checked my stats, and I love how I can see not only how many clicks, but when!!  Here’s the haiku I composed for it this morning:

/ You will be amazed / if you let tweetburner sate / curiosity!!! / #haiku about knowing if/when your http://twurl.nl tweetlinks are clicked

    UPDATE (August 30, 2010)

I’m still using tweetburner, but not for everything. It hasn’t been updated in awhile, but I haven’t bothered to bother with switching to something with more functionality. My twitterfeed links still show up in twurl.nl form, so… yay, I guess.
