About this Site
I’ve tried to believe that my blog is not for me, but honestly, it is. There’s nothing for me to be ashamed about, wanting to learn the ropes of the blogosphere, and there’s also no reason to deny that I get a kick out of the idea that my writing might get read by others. But the reason I’m writing is mostly so I can feel like my miscellaneous thoughts and ideas might have a fighting chance of being useful — if not to me, then at least to someone. (Or if a thought is more amusing then useful, then perhaps I won’t have to be alone in appreciating it!)
I love the notion of the blogosphere, and I am intrigued that I can use my blog as a way to get some great memes to trickle outward from me and affect the world. Plus, I’d love to take part in more of the memes that are already going around! I just don’t want to be stuck only leaving comments out there, because I feel like I’m leaving a part of myself behind… a part I might never find again. I’d rather keep my thoughts a little closer to me, and have them all interconnect to each other and further define my online identity and help me build up my notoriety –err, I mean authority, yeah!
Actually, I also realized that I needed a way for me to declutter my mind. This blog is helping clear my thoughts enough to work more efficiently on the things I want to accomplish!
I’m also sick of just taking information from the internet without giving much back. I’ve spent valuable time researching ideas and concepts, and I’ve benefitted from other people’s views after they’ve done the same, so I want to return the favour. I need to be a part of this booming blogosphere!!
Plus, I want to pursue writing/blogging/blog management seriously when I’m done with my degree. I have a few domain names ready to get roarin’, but I can’t restrict myself to only those niches — that would drive me mad! I have far too many interests, and many many many things I want to say that have nothing to do with my main interests.
So here I am:
I am Qrystal.
When I decided to get the Qrystal-dot-name domain, it was because I kinda liked the idea of adapting myself to be more search-engine-friendly by tweaking my name just slightly. It’s nice to be my own search term! And the name still means “me”… more specifically, it’s “Me 2.0!” ;)
