• Who am I?

I am Qrystal, a physics grad student who enjoys writing: for herself, or to help other people learn things. When I am done my degree, I'll finally be able to allow myself to start following my desire to write and tutor and spread my joy of understanding physics.

  • About Me

My name is Crystal, but my online identity has been Qrystal for awhile (and I pronounce both of them the same way). The Q is partly just there to make my name a little different, but more importantly the choice of letter has meaning for me, from a past life as the goddess of a clan dedicated to amusement, way back when text-based online multi-user dimensions were all the rage.

My trademark avatar is an excerpt of a photograph I took of my reflection on a pair of sunglasses:

However, I still feel that it’s important to portray myself as a real person who is standing behind the words she is saying. I’m not trying to hide, but I am not leaping to the forefront to display myself either.

That said, I have written more about me on the next page.

I may as well mention that there are other places where someone else has used the name Qrystal before I’ve gotten a chance to claim it — e.g. I don’t have a World of Warcraft character with that name, nor am I associated with qrystal.com, my photobucket and OKcupid accounts have the name QrystalQ, and I have no gmail account with this name.  But here are some places where I am Qrystal:
