Accepting twitter changes
Wednesday, May 13th, 2009…a new [twitter] feature which will give folks far more control over what they see from the accounts they follow. This will be a per-user setting and it will take a bit longer to put together but not too long and we’re already working on it. — From the Twitter Blog: “We Learned A Lot”. [...]
About Me on Twitter
Thursday, January 22nd, 2009Hello, fellow twitterer~! I made this page especially for people coming from my twitter profile, figuring I can address more directly some of the things you might want to know about me if you’re coming from twitter. A-twitter about Life As I mention in my twitter profile, I am a grad student in Physics, and [...]
Twitter as a hangout
Thursday, January 8th, 2009Twitter, as it turns out, is a bar. It’s a bar. It’s the local neighborhood bar/cafe thing where you hang out. … Why do you hang out in your neighborhood bar/cafe thing? Because it’s your local. It’s your place. It’s where your friends are. It’s where you make new friends. It’s where you go because [...]
Twittering Plant
Wednesday, October 29th, 2008The ThinkGeek Plant Twitter Kit looks like the answer to almost all of my struggles with houseplants! The only thing missing is the option for it to sense if my cat is trying to eat it. Maybe in version 2.0?
Flocking to twitter
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008We’ve all seen a flock of birds move as one around an object. How can they move around that object and be so choreographed? One bird watches another bird’s shoulder and knows to stay a few feet apart. There’s an initial awkwardness, but it’s a new way for humans to react. We’ve seen it work [...]
If I Was to Meet a Star…
Wednesday, September 10th, 2008Choking Hazard » Blog Archive » On Meeting Wil Wheaton This would totally be me if I met Wil. I restrained myself from following him on twitter for awhile when I started, only to peek in on him occasionally to see why some of my followees were replying to him with interesting things. Eventually I [...]
Twitter is Measuring its Improvements
Tuesday, July 8th, 2008I am really pleased with the efforts of the twitter staff in providing their users with constant updates — not to mention, the improved service! Here’s an abbreviated version of a recent post on their twitterstatus tumblog, entitled “Measurable Improvements”: …[Twitter] page response times have significantly improved in the last week, as you can see [...]
Tweetburner and Link Tracking
Tuesday, June 24th, 2008Link: tweetburner My curiosity got the better of me!! I’m now gonna start tracking the links I share on Twitter. Or at least, I’m starting to use a link-shortener that will let me track if the urge ever hits. Whether I actually get around to using it is a completely different question… :P UPDATE (June [...]
Stop-and-go Blogging
Thursday, June 19th, 2008I’ve been really wanting to write here, and I even have five posts in progress at the moment (six, if you count this one!) but just can’t bring myself to finish what I’ve been starting. I think it’s because I feel like I have to draw the line at how much time I spend with [...]
Tweets from Another Planet
Thursday, May 29th, 2008I find it absolutely delightful that someone is twittering as @MarsPhoenix, giving “live” updates about the happenings on Mars and the research going on. I can’t help but wonder who is actually doing the twittering though!! Is it someone from NASA? An interested fan? Someone like @BadAstronomer or another famous science journalist?
