About Me
My name is Crystal, but my online identity has been Qrystal for awhile (and I pronounce both of them the same way). The Q is partly just there to make my name a little different, but more importantly the choice of letter has meaning for me, from a past life as the goddess of a clan dedicated to amusement, way back when text-based online multi-user dimensions were all the rage.
My trademark avatar is an excerpt of a photograph I took of my reflection on a pair of sunglasses:
I have deliberately chosen to show only a glimpse of myself in my avatar, just a shadowed reflection of me, because I feel that what I can say is more important than who I am or what I look like. However, I still feel that it’s important to portray myself as a real person who is standing behind the words she is saying. I’m not trying to hide, but I am not leaping to the forefront to display myself either.
That said, I have written more about me on the next page.
I may as well mention that there are other places where someone else has used the name Qrystal before I’ve gotten a chance to claim it — e.g. I don’t have a World of Warcraft character with that name, nor am I associated with qrystal.com, my photobucket and OKcupid accounts have the name QrystalQ, and I have no gmail account with this name.
